No stranger to setbacks, new Cork City signing Daire O’Connor is eager to impress during his first full season at Turners Cross after a superb breakthrough year with UCD in the First Division.
O’Connor recently caught up with myself,  Andrew Dempsey as the former Home Farm schoolboy sensation revealed all on pre-season, his time at UCD, the importance of holding a degree and his hopes and ambitions for 2019 at Turners Cross.
Speaking on pre-season, the UCD First Division title-winner noted that the squad are feeling sharp ahead of the season kicking back into action this week.
“Pre-Season has been very intense. We’re getting there, feeling sharp. We’ve been in since in December doing gym work and we’ve gone on to football shape and tactics since January which we have implemented over the pre-season games so it’s all coming together nicely now.”

After stunning Bala Town to become the first ever San Marino side to win a European tie, Tre Fiori have made headlines, both at home and abroad after their unprecedented success in Europe's secondary cup competition.

The incredible win over their Welsh counterparts was all but secured after their fantastic three goals to nil home win in ForlĂ­. Goals from Giacomo Procacci and Mirco Vassallo helped Fiori on their way as an own goal from Bala Town man Anthony Miley helped Matteo Cacchetti's side on their way to the 1st Qualifying Round of the Europa League.
